Surprise, Surprise!

Let’s rewind a little bit to Saturday night, the night before Valentine’s Day.  We had just arrived back home and were comfy in our jammies on the couch preparing to watch a movie. We couldn’t settle on a movie so decided to watch some re-runs of The Office.  About half way through the first episode, I got a hankering for popcorn.

I walked to the pantry, grabbed a bag, and tossed it in the microwave.  Of course I didn’t need the popcorn, but the thought of watching a show without it  just seemed unbearable.

I went over to our corner cabinet to grab a large bowl.  This cabinet is one of those long, awkward, corner cabinets that extends the length of the counter top.  I stuff things back there that I never use or really large things that don’t fit well other places.

I reached down to grab the bowl and noticed a little something somewhat hidden near the door.  Something red with an oh-so-familiar logo across the front.  Not quite registering yet, I closed the cabinet and returned back to the microwave.

The first thing that popped into my head was “What was that?  My blender, right?”  Then I told myself that wasn’t right because my blender is Cuisinart brand.  I don’t own anything with that oh-so-familiar logo on it.

Or do I?

The popcorn still popping away in the microwave, I started processing this out loud.  “What in the world was that?!” “OMG what is this, Grayson!?!?!”  I flung the cabinet back open, moved a couple things around, and there it was in all its classic beauty.  My very own red KitchenAid Stand Mixer!

I squealed and dragged it out onto my lap and clinged onto it for dear life, squealing with excitement!!  What an awesome surprise!  I’m a VERY hard person to surprise, but Grayson did a great job with this one.  I can count on one hand how many times he has genuinely surprised me and this is one of them!

Soooo who remembers the post about me needing a very important kitchen tool?  If you don’t, allow me to jog your memory here.  I see lots of salted caramel chocolate chip cookies in my future 😉  Can’t wait to try this baby out!  Happy Valentine’s Day to me!  Love you babe 😉 ❤

I really have the most amazing husband.  I thank God for him every. single. day.
